3 held for selling illicit weapons
Jaunpur, Jan 13 (UNI) Police today arrested three persons, involved in the business of selling illicit weapons, and seized nine pistols from their possession in Badlapur area here.
Special Operation Group (SOG) of Uttar Pradesh police and local police caught Surendra Singh, Brijesh and Ravindra red-handed when they were selling the weapons, Police Superintendent Lalji Shukla said.
The arrested persons used to buy the weapons and cartridges from Bihar and supply them to criminals in Jaunpur, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh and other districts.
Meanwhile, a reward of Rs 2,500 has been announced for the police team.
The arrested have been sent to jail.
