Vanessa Hudgens to star in 'Will'

Washington, Jan 12 : 'High School Musical' star Vanessa Hudgens Hudgens has joined the cast of Todd Graff's upcoming teenage drama-comedy 'Will.'

Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas is producing the film and Graff and Josh Cagan have written the screenplay, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The film follows a high school misfit and a popular girl that form an unlikely friendship through their shared love of music. Together, they form a band of outcasts and go on to perform in a musical competition.

Hudgens is playing the role of fifteen-year-old stutterer Sam. She becomes romantically entangled with the lead outcast.

The film will begin production this February in Austin.
