Tripura police foils women trafficking bid
Agartala, Jan 12 (UNI) The Tripura police arrested two miscreants who were trying to cross the state border after abducting a school girl.
Police said here today they had specific information that the gang kidnapped girls for trafficking in the red light areas of Mumbai.
Police said the gang, comprising one Murshid Ali and his friend Sarfuddin Ali, was heading for Mumbai via Silchar and was nabbed at the Assam-Tripura border yesterday.
Murshid, who had earlier married thrice, somehow convinced the girl to elope with him. Later, the duo chalked out a plan and abducted the girl from Bishalgarh area of West Tripura district on January 8.
Immediately after the abduction, the victim's father filed an FIR.
