Tourist dies after a fall in a gorge

Baripada, Jan 12 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a tourist from Salt Lake area of Kolkata has died when he fell into a nearly 100 mt deep gorge of river West Deo at Deokund, about 65 km from here.

Police said Sambudhha Sen(21) came to Deokund in a group of six young friends yesterday morning for sight seeing and picnicking at Deokund located inside the Simlipal Wildlife Sanctuary.

Sen's legs slipped while he was walking along the edge of the gorge at Deokund.

A police and Fire Brigade team rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the tourist from the gorge.

The body was later taken to the Sub-Divisional government hospital at Udla, about 35 km from the spot of the incident for post-mortem examination.
