Sugar prices decline on lack of fresh demand
Navi Mumbai, Jan 12 (UNI) The wholesale spot sugar prices eased today on lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Sugar prices in small grade remained flat on moderate demand while medium grades inched down by Rs 6 per quintal due to poor buying support.
Sugar prices in ex-mill small and medium grade dipped by Rs 5 per quintal each following sluggish demand by bulk consumers.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,400/1,436, Medium grade: Rs 1,450/1,545.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,390/1,420 and Medium grade: Rs 1,460/1,520.
