Six killed in sponge iron factory accident
Raipur, Jan 12 (UNI) Six labourers were killed and three others were seriously injured in an accident in a sponge iron plant at Siltara industrial area here this morning.
Inspector General of Police (Raipur range) Y K S Thakur told UNI that the labourers were cleaning the equipment at the Godavari Ispat when melted iron fell on them.
All the injured were rushed to the medical college hospital but six of them succumbed to their injuries, he said adding that the condition of two of the injured were reported to be serious.
Mr Thakur said appropriate legal action would be taken after necessary investigations.
