Shiv Sena activits protest against Territorial Commander

Mumbai, Jan 12 (UNI) More than 150 Shiv Sainiks today protested against the Territorial Commander of Salvation Army, Church-cum-NGO, for allegedly abusing Maharashtrians, who were living in the same compound at Byculla here.

Shiv Sena activist Tapan Gaokar said Territorial Commander Rajkumar Roopadas had allegedly abused Maharashtrians, who were living in the Salvation Army complex for long.

Mr Gaokar said, ''How can some one abuse people living in the complex for such a long time? A delegation met Mr Lalkimlova, Commissioner International Secretary of South Asia of Salvation Army. He assured that he will take up the matter with top boss of the NGO at London.'' A Salvation Army spokesperson said Ms Roopadas is a soft spoken person and had never uttered any abusing remarks to anyone so far.

However, she wanted to build a new building in the compound so she had asked all the tenants to shift out of the complex till the construction of the building was done. But, the tenants declined to shift out of the premises.

More than 150 tenants have been living in the complex for long.

They are paying a rent of Rs 14 per month to the NGO.
