Punjab's First Community Care Centre For HIV/AIDS Patients

{image-world aids day_12012008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Amritsar, Jan 12: Punjab Health and Family Minister Lakshmi Kanta Chawla inaugurated the Punjab's first Community Care Centre for HIV/AIDS Patients near Guru Nanak Dev Hospital here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Chawla said AIDS was not just a disease but a grave problem afflicting our society due to forsaking moral and ethical values and stressed it could be stemmed to a great extent by adhering to value-based Indian life style as advocated by the 'vedic' culture.

Prof Chawla also interacted with the five patients including one male and four females admitted therein and exhorted the doctors to undertake the treatment of HIV patients with a compassionate attitude.
