Primary school principal arrested on molestation charges

New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) Police today arrested the principal of a primary school in Bhajanpura area of North-East Delhi on charges of attempt to rape a minor following public outrage and violence in the area this morning.

Chandraketu (56), principal of 'Hightech Modern Public Primary School', was arrested under Section 376, 511 of the IPC, a senior police official told UNI.

The accused allegedly molested the child, studying in UKG, during lunch time yesterday after calling her into his office.

After the child reported the matter to her mother, her parents, along with about a hundred other supporters, stormed the school this morning leading to breaking of furniture and window panes at the Vijay Vihar, in Bhajanpura area, school.

Later the police was called, which arrested the principal under the 'attempt to rape' charges.

Accused Chandraketu lives in Maujpur.
