No nomination filed for Simaria bypoll
Chatra, Jan 12 (UNI) No nomination has been filed till today, the third day for filing of candidature for the February four byelection to the Simaria Assembly seat.
Sub-divisional-officer-cum-electoral officer Bhagwan Das here said not a single nomination had been filed so far.
The notification for the bypoll was issued on January 10.
The byelection was necessitated following the death of BJP's Upendra Nath Das.
The last date of filing nomination is January 17 and scrutiny would be done the next day.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is January 21.
Counting of votes would take place on February seven.
About 2.5 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in the bypoll.
