Navy-Police clash unfortunate:Home Minister

Kochi, Jan 12 (UNI) Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishanan today described as ''unfortunate'' the clash between police and Navy personnel here on Thursday night and said ''appropriate action'' will be taken against the culprits.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a function here, Mr Balakrishanan said the two forces were supposed to work in tandem and not clash with one another.

Three Naval personnel, including a Lt Commander, were remanded to 14 days judicial custody by a city court yesterday after police arrested them for allegedly attacking the Harbour Police Station here.

The alleged attack came after three other Naval personnel were detained by the police for parking violation.
