Mauritius PM to visit Bihar next month
Patna, Jan 12 (UNI) Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Chandra Ram Ghoolam will arrive here on February 17 on a three-day maiden visit to Bihar during which he will also tour his native village in Bhojpur district, official sources today said.
Mr Ghoolam after attending a number of programmes here,organised in honour of the visiting dignitory, including the inauguration of a statue of former Mauritius Prime minister Dr Shiv Sagar Ram Ghoolam, will visit his native village Harigaon, about 60 km from here,on the last leg of his tour on February 19.
Prior to Mr Ghoolam's visit to the remote village and to ensure proper arrangements there, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar undertook an unscheduled visit to Harigaon today to personally supervise the arrangements.
He also announced a special package for all-round development of the village at a cost of Rs 68 lakhs.
Under the programme, a high school and a 12-bed hospital would be constructed at Harigaon, Mr Kumar said and announced the government's plan to hand over an ancient temple here to the Archaeological Survey of India.
