India, Canada discuss bilateral, international issues
New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) India and Canada today held discussions on ways to enhance bilateral trade and possibilities for closer contacts on major international issues including Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the Middle East Peace Process (MEPP).
Visiting Canadian Foreign Minister Maxime Bernier and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee also held discussions on the need to intensify the dialogue mechanisms already in position.
Regional and global issues discussed included Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, MEPP, NAFTA etc and climate change in the context of Bali Conference.
The External Affairs Minister also briefed the Canadian Foreign Minister on SAARC, including the 14th SAARC summit.
