Cosmetic surgeon arrested on charge of 'molesting' reporter

Mumbai, Jan 12 (UNI) A well-known cosmetic surgeon was arrested by police at Khar in suburban Mumbai today for allegedly molesting a reporter of a local news channel.

The reporter, who was doing a story on 'cosmetic surgeries', met Dr Vijay Sharma at his clinic this morning in Khar in north-west Mumbai to know the treatment procedures.

Police sources said Sharma 'kissed' the reporter after she shook hands with him, thanking him for his help. A Cameraman of the channel was standing outside the clinic when the incident took place.

Sharma had also passed some lewd remarks at the 2O-year-old reporter, the sources added.

Later, the reporter received a call from Sharma, threatening her not to mention about their meeting to anyone as he was a 'influential person'.

On a complaint filed by the reporter, police arrested Sharma, who runs a chain of clinics, under sections 354 and 506 of the Indian penal code.
