"Our aim is to protest against the behaviour meted out to the students. SP will support students protesting anywhere. This government will have to change its language and attitude towards students," he said. In home district of Mulayam, Etawah, violence continued for the third day, as protesters set a bus on fire.
Security has been beefed in the city in wake of continuing clashes. "If such kind of incidents are repeated then strict action would be taken, and in this case also, we have gathered information and will make arrests," said S R S Aditya, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).
Meanwhile, SP workers staged protest and burnt an effigy of the state chief minister Mayawati in Agra. A state-run bus was damaged. Earlier, the SP has blamed Mayawati and her BSP for the violence in the state in which at least one person was killed and many others were injured.
