'Be sensitive to common man's problems'

Bhopal, Jan 12: After putting the party and government on election mode ahead of year-end Assembly election, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has told the bureacucracy to understand the pains and sufferings of weaker sections and adopt a sensitive approach to solve their problems.

Addressing the District Collectors and Superintendents of Police of all districts through video conferencing from here yesterday, Mr Chouhan said ''common man should not be compelled to wander even for small problems''.

He asked the officers to take stern action against coal, drug and liquor mafia as well as white collar criminals, while assuring that no intervention will be made in the case of criminals.

Employment, foodgrains and drinking water should be ensured in drought-hit areas. Mr Chouhan also impressed upon the need for officers to undertake field visits to understand the ground reality, official sources said.
