Army displays high-tech equipment

Jalandhar, Jan 12 (UNI) A public display of latest high-tech equipment was today organised by the Golden Arrow Division at parade ground near Ferozepur Fort as a prelude to Army Day celebrations.

With the theme 'Know your Army', the display was organised in order to highlight various achievements of the Army in professional fields, humanitarian aid and relief work and service rendered as aid to civil authorities. It also gave the spectators a glimpse into life in the Army and was aimed at motivating the youth to join the prestigious defence forces.

Golden Arrow Division General Officer Commanding Major General Munish Sibal inaugurated the exhibition. He also addressed the gathering and highlighted the proud customs and traditions of the forces. He exhorted the youth to come forward and be part of this valiant organisation.

Artillery, Air Defence guns, tanks, engineer equipments and other latest armaments held by the Army were displayed on the occasion.

The display was witnessed by a large number of civilian dignitaries, residents and students of various educational institutions of Ferozepur and neighbouring areas. They showed a keen interest in the various high-tech weapons and equipment that were displayed.

They were also highly appreciative of the way in which the event was organised and having got the chance to interact with men in olive green.
