Two
Rajasthani
shepherds
were
kidnapped
by
a
gang
of
dacoits
for
ransom
in
the
Jatwara
forest
under
Pohri
police
station
area
of
Shivpuri
district,
police
said
today.
Ganpat Rewari alias Gudda and Jangadji Rewari, who were tending herds of camels and sheep, had put up their camp ''Hansa-ka-dera'' in the forest on Thursday night. An armed gang of four or five people kidanapped both of them, but later freed Jangadji Rewari along a letter seeking ransom of Rs 1 lakh for the release of other shepherd.
The letter mentioned that the ransom be paid to Pappu Yadav gang, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Chandra Sharma said today, adding a complaint regarding the kidnapping was lodged with the police yesterday.
