Sugar prices up amid lesser stock supply
Navi Mumbai, Jan 11 (UNI) The wholesale spot sugar prices rose today amid lesser stock supply, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Sugar prices in small and medium grades shot up by Rs 4 and Rs 6 per quintal respectively, owing to increase of demand.
Sugar prices in ex-mill small grade inched up by Rs 5 per quintal following reduced stock supply while medium grade remained flat on moderate demand, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,400/1,436, Medium grade: Rs 1,456/1,550.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,395/1,400 and Medium grade: Rs 1,465/1,530.
