One more soldier buried under snow in north Kashmir
Baramulla, Jan 11 (UNI) One more soldier was killed when a huge snow avalanche hit a post near the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector in Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said.
With this, three soldiers had been killed in the sector for the past three days, he said.
The spokesman said a sepoy Kuldeep Singh was buried under a snow avalanche near a forward post in Machil sector, where several feet of snow was experienced during the past four days.
He said the body of the sepoy was recovered by a rescue team.
On January 8, eight soldiers were buried alive when a huge snow avalanche came from a hill top and fell on their post in the same sector.
However, six soldiers were rescued immediately while two others identified as LN Vasko Jacob and gunner Subiss M from Kerala were killed.
