HC allows doctors in AIIMS to continue until final decision
New Delhi, Jan 11 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today refrained the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) authorities to remove any doctor who has been appointed earlier on temporary basis from his job till the disposal of the final order.
A bench headed by Chief Justice M K Sharma was hearing a PIL filed by some doctors who were appointed on ad hoc basis and were now demanding to give them a permanant status.
The doctors said due to the dispute between former AIIMS director Venugopal and Union Health Minister Ramadoss, there could be no general body meeting in the institute for the last one year.
Though they were appointed as permanent doctors as per the AIIMS manual but they were being denied the permanent status. They were continuing on a temporary basis, which was being renewed every month, the petitioners said.
The Court has issued notices to the AIIMS authorities and have directed them to allow the doctors to continue their job till the final case is decided.
