Elephant on run injures two
Coochbehar, Jan 11 (UNI) An elephant from Jaldapara went on a rampage today and in the process, destroyed several houses in Chengrabanga area of the district and severely injured two, before escaping into Bangladesh by breaking the fence on the border here.
Forest officials here informed that the elephant escaped into Lalmonirhat area in Bangladesh.
Coochbehar DM Rajesh Sinha said that he has spoken to Lalmonirhat DC Md Rafiq to collaborate efforts for its capture.
Forest department high officials and the BDO are presently at the spot.
