Bainsla demands white paper on recommendatory note by Shekhawat

Jaipur, Jan 11 (UNI) Gujjar Reservation Action Committee Convenor Col Kirodi Singh Bainsla has urged the Rajasthan Government to issue white paper on letter of recommendation reportedly sent to the Centre by the then Bhairon Singh Shekhawat Government in favour of Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Gujjars.

Talking to reproters here today, Mr Bainsla said the Raje Government had kept the action committee in dark about the above letter. He said it was this letter in reference of which the Centre had sought, in 1999 details about 23 castes, including the Gujjars.

He urged Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to advocate in favour of the Gujjar communty's demand.

Meanwhile, an important meeting is scheduled to be held between the Gujjar leaders and the ruling BJP functionaries at the BJP state headquarters here tomorrow to discuss the reservation issue.
