Bajaj auto plans to launch small car in four years

New Delhi, 8 Jan, 2008 : Bajaj Auto Ltd, India's No. 2 motorbike maker, on January 8th revealed its plans to launch a low-cost small car within the next two to four years, probably in collaboration with French carmaker Renault and Japan's Nissan Motor Company.

The low-cost car will be designed by Bajaj and produced at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra. Chakan plant will also produce light trucks, which Bajaj expects to launch in 2009.
