Sweeping machines to keep Hyd clean

Hyderabad, Jan 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today inaugurated modern street sweeping machines of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal (GHMC) Corporation.

Following orders from Dr Reddy, the GHMC had procured six sweeping machines, at a cost of Rs 2.41 crore, to improve sanitary works on busy roads in the city, a release said here.

In ideal conditions, a machine could work on a ten km stretch per hour and for eight to ten hours daily.

The mechines would sprinkle water during the action to avoid pollution.
