Six members of a family commit suicide

Rajkot, Jan 10 (UNI) Six members of a family allegedly committed suicide in the city today.

According to police sources, Jagdish Dodiya (40), his wife Hansaben (39), their two sons -- Bhagirath (18), Yashraj (5) and two daughters -- Summan (16) and Jalpa (14) were found dead at their house in Vinayak Vatika society here on Jamnagar Road.

Jagdish was found hanging from the ceiling, while the other members had consumed poison, police said.

The bodies have been sent to Rajkot civil hospital for postportem, police said. The reason behind the mass suicide is still not known.

The deceased Jagdishbhai had construction business, the sources said.
