Notification for by-election to Chatra Assembly seat issued

Chatra, Jan 10 (UNI) The notification for February four by-election to the Chatra Assmebly seat was issued here today.

Sub-divisional officer-cum-electoral officer Bhagwan Das said nomination papers would be accepted till January 17 and scrutiny of those papers would be done the next day.

Mr Das said withdrawal of nomination papers would continue till January 21.

Counting of votes would take place on February 7.

About 2.5 lakh voters would exercise their franchise in the bypoll, necessitated due to the death of BJP MLA Upendranath Das.
