Internet failure affect on-line banking and other service in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 10 (UNI) Banking, including on-line and other services were badly affected due to internet failure in the Kashmir valley today, official sources said.

They said banking service, particularly in the State Bank of India (SBI) and other banks branches, was affected today due to internet failure.

The on-line banking and other services in these banks, including ATM, were not functioning properly. However, a number of SBI branches, including main branch, accommodated their customers.

Customers in many branches alleged that the cash deposited in their accounts outside the state could not be credited because of non-functioning of the internet.

Internet failure has also affected other departments, including media organisations in the valley.

A Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) official admitted that internet service was affected.

However, he said, the fault in the internet cable was beyond Jammu. Nothing can be said, he said when asked when the fault will be rectified.
