HC DIefers bail plea of Maoist

Kochi, Jan 10 (UNI) The Kerala High Court posted to next week the bail application of Maoist 'ideologue' and 'Peoples March' publisher Govindankutty.

Mr Justice R Basanth posted the bail petition for instruction from the state police.

The petitioner submitted that he was arrested on December 20 last on a suo motu complaint by the police and charged under Section 120 A, 153 B of Indian Penal Code and Section 31 B of Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act.

He was now on judicial remand in sub-jail, Aluva.

He moved the High Court following denial of bail by the Magistrate Court, Aluva.
