Function in Rural banks remain paralysed in Bihar

Patna, Jan 10 (UNI) The Rural Banking services remained paralysed today in Bihar following a two-day country wide strike of Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) in favour of their charter of demands.

All India Gramin Bank employees Officers Association General secretary D N Trivedi said here that employees of all the 14,500 branches operating in 585 districts remained on strike following which all transactions remained affected during the day.

He said the strike also affected clearing houses and cheques and drafts worth more than thousand millions could not be cleared.

Mr Trivedi said the strike called on January 10 and 11 was given by the joint forum of Gramin Unions for realisation of pension and PF at par with commercial banks including, compassionate appointments, immediate promotions and recruitments.

He also said the joint forum would go on a strike during the budget session of the parliament if the Centre fails to fulfil their demands.
