Citibank India to set up Japan desk
Mumbai, Jan 10 (UNI) Citibank India today announced the establishment of a Japanese desk in Delhi this month to offer Japanese corporate clients in India banking and associated services, including cash management, trade financing, foreign exchange and lending.
The Bank in a relese here said that India was a major destination for investment and business development among large and small Japanese corporations. With the setting up of the new desk. the Bank would be in a position to play a key role in supporting new Japanese corporates entering the indian market. It would also support existing Japanese subsidiaries in India with their expansion plans.
The Bank would staff the new Desk with expatriate Japanese professionals, allowing a Japanese client interface, the release added.
Japan was the third largest FDI investor in India and over 400 Japanee companies currently operate in the country. Last year India had attracted over US Dollars 300 million investment from Japan.
