Chandy agrees with Karunakaran's statement

Palakkad, Kerala, Jan 10 (UNI) Opposition Leader in the Kerala Assembly and Congress Leader Oommen Chandy today said he agreed with veteran leader K Karunakaran's statement that the Congress was the only force which could lead the nation.

He also said Nationalist Congress Party President K Muraleedharn's contention that groupism will gain strength in the party as a 'nightmare.' Talking to reporters here, Mr Chandy said the Congress' democratic socialism, which was based on social justice and development, would withstand the rigours of time.

Lambasting the LDF Government, Mr Chandy said the present CPI(M)- led LDF Government had failed on all fronts.

''We have always opposed the anti-people policies of the LDF Government. The Congress has a different way of strikes and opposition and we are doing it,''he said.
