Assault on college principal unfortunate : Gaud
Bhopal, Jan 10 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh School Education Minister Lakshman Singh Gaud today described the beating up of a college principal by ABVP workers in Ujjain as unfortunate.
''Such incidents are unfortunate. The district administration had been asked to submit a factual report in this regard,'' Mr Gaud told newspersons here.
On whether ABVP workers were behind the incident, he said he had as much information about the incident as published in newspapers.
He assured that strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
Regarding ABVP office-bearers being accused in Professor H S Sabharwal's murder, Mr Gaud said similar incidents had occurred earlier. However, legal action was taken without any bias.
On the attempt to self-immolation by a person over the demand for school building construction, he said one must avoid extreme steps such as suicide, to press for their demands.
He denied there was a dearth of school buildings and informed that construction of 22,000 school buildings had been completed.
Madhav College Prof Sabharwal was killed when he was allegedly attacked by students irked over the postponement of student unions elections in August last year.
