UP Congress demands installation of Rajiv's bust
Lucknow, Jan 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress today handed over a memorandum to Governor T V Rajeswar demanding immediate installation of the bust of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at the centre of the Kalidas Marg crossing, near Chief Minister Mayawati's residence in the state capital.
A delegation of the Congress led by state president Rita Bahuguna Joshi met the Governor at Rajbhawan and urged him to intervene and order the BSP government to install the bust at the centre.
Ms Joshi said the Congress had sent several letters to the government to consider their demands but nothing had been done so far.
Earlier, the Congress had announced to launch agitation against the BSP government for not installing the bust of late Rajiv Gandhi at the centre after it was removed and placed on the side of the roundabout due to beautification drive.
