Two crore cases pending in various courts: Natchiappan

Mumbai, Jan 9 (UNI) Chairman of the parliamentary committee on personnel, public grievances, law and justice and implementaion of Right To Information Act Natchiappan today said two crore cases were pending in various courts in the country with most of them related to government or its bodies.

Stressing the need for settling the cases, Mr Natchiappan told reporters that the committee would suggest the government to erase colonial method of diverting matter to the court.

Mr Natchiappan, who was here on a two-day visit, held a meeting with the bank and oil company officials and said that only RTI could not serve the purpose and stressed for in-built public grievances redressal mechanism in every organisation.

Mr Natchiappan said that if such a system divided in two layers would be brought in, there would be no case pending against the institution.
