Sugar up owing to better buying support
Navi Mumbai, Jan 9 (UNI) The wholesale spot sugar prices increased today owing to better buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Prices of sugar in small and medium grades went up by Rs 5 and Rs 10 per quintal respectively, on good demand from retailers.
Sugar prices in ex-mill small and medium grades also advanced by Rs 5 and Rs 25 per quintal respectively, on lesser stock supply, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,396/1,455, Medium grade: Rs 1,456/1,556.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,390/1,420 and Medium grade: Rs 1,450/1,530.
