SDM killed in road mishap

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Jan 9 (UNI) Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Bageecha, Jashpur) Rajendra Surve was killed on the spot and two people were injured when his Marshal jeep collided with a truck at Pali area in Korba district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.

Mr Surve, 52, was on his way to Bilaspur for hearing in a court when the incident occurred last night. Clerk Narayan Prasad Raghav and jeep driver were seriously injured.

A truck driver, who was coming from Bilaspur, informed the police.

Police rushed the injured to community healthcare centre in Pali where Mr Surve was declared dead. The injured were given primary treatment and sent to SIMS in Bilaspur.

A case has been registered against the truck driver.
