Rs 4 lakh heist in bank

Bellary, Jan 9 (UNI) In a daring daylight robbery, Rs 4 lakh in cash were robbed from a Canara bank branch here today.

Police said as soon as the bank opened for transactions in the morning, culprits entered the bank posing as customers and one of them entered the cash cabinet.

The cashier was counting the money and keeping it in the chest, when the robbers removed the currency wads and escaped even before the alarm was raised by a staff member.
