Professor assaulted by ABVP workers

Ujjain, MP, Jan 9 (UNI) In a grim reminder of last year's murder case of Professor H S Sabharwal, a local college professor was today assaulted by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers.

An FIR was lodged against ABVP workers Bhanu Bhadauria and Vikas Khatri on the basis of a complaint by Maharaja College Professor Ashish Mehta.

In his complaint, Prof Mehta alleged that ABVP workers stormed into his office, assaulted him and vandalised his office. He stated that these workers were trying to put pressure on him to allow students cheat in the examination.

Madhav College Prof Sabharwal was killed when he was allegedly attacked by students irked over postponement of student unions elections.
