Bihar: Official held for taking bribe

Samastipur, Jan 9: The Bihar Vigilance Bureau today arrested a senior government official of Samastipur district while accepting a bribe of Rs 1500.

The vigilance sleuths said the Agriculture officer of Khanpur block was arrested following the complaint of one farmer Tantan Jha after the officer demand Rs 1500 from him to clear the sanctioned crop compensation money.

The officer would be produced before the vigilance court here tomorrow, sources said.
