National meet on environment and safety from Jan 12

Kolhapur, Jan 9 (UNI) A two-day national level conference on environment and safety 'Envisafe 2008' will be held from January 12 here.

The conference will be organised jointly by the Department of Environmental Engineering - Kit College of Engineering, Kolhapur and the Institute of Indian Foundrymen, Kolhapur in collaboration with Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB).

Converner of the conference, Atul Ayare and industrialist Kiran Patil jointly informed reporters today, that the meet will discuss various issues pertaining to environment including pollution, its control and industrial safety management.

About 200 delegates from various parts of the country will participate in the conference and will discuss about clean foundries future, carbon credit in foundries, basic accident philosophy and safety in industries and other issues, they added.
