Mann gets blanket bail from HC
Chandigarh, Jan 9 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today granted blanket bail to former MP Simranjit Singh Mann and directed the Punjab government to give him seven days notice, if required, to be arrested or questioned in connection with any future case.
Mann, who is also the president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), had appealod for blanket bail alleging that the Punjab Police was harassing him for his political views.
He had further submitted that about 100 cases had been registered against him by the government and that he was not convicted even in a single case, indicating his false implication by the authorities.
