Fast to press for pension, promotion

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 9 (UNI) Employees at the District Central Cooperative Bank of Tiruchirapalli, Thanjavur and Pudukottai, affiliated to the Central Bank Employees Association, today observed a fast demanding introduction of pension scheme for them.

Led by Federation General Secretary T Shanmugham, the agitators demanded, among other things, withdrawal of optimum cadre strength formula and implementation of a court order to this effect.

They also demanded that the government constitute a Cooperative Election Commission, conduct elections to all the state cooperative banks and take steps for their promotion.
