CPI(M) to launch stir pressing for SSCP implementation
Madurai, Jan 9 (UNI) The CPI(M) in Tamil Nadu will mobilise people to launch series of agitations, demanding early implementation of Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project (SSCP), a resolution to this effect was passed at the 19th state party conference here today.
Later, talking to newspersons, CPI(M) Central Committee Members T K Rangarajan and W R Varadharajan said the party would urge the Centre not to delay the project, considering the general feeling of the people and economic development of the state.
They accused the BJP and RSS of trying to halt the project in the name of religion.
They alleged that ''the AIADMK had joined hands with these forces and was indulging in anti-Tamil Nadu activities''.
