Court reserves order in Sridevi's case till Friday
Mumbai, Jan 9 (UNI) A city court today reserved its order till Friday on a petition filed by Bollywood actress Sridevi seeking a stay on the bailable warrant issued for her in a cheque bounce case involving over Rs 1 crore.
Additional sessions judge K T Vaidya today heard arguments from both sides at length and then reserved his order till Friday.
Sridevi's counsel H H Nagi said the Juhu police had filed a forgery case against his client without any concrete evidence.
Ms Sridevi had filed an application in the sessions court seeking a stay on the bailable warrant, issued for her by the metropolitan magistrate, Kurla.
Earlier, the court had issued bailable warrants for the actress for not appearing in a cheque bounce case filed against her by proprietors of Foto Film Industries -- Mr Madhu Gupta and Sushil Gupta.
They had alleged that the actress had issued two cheques for Rs 92 lakh and Rs 8.41 lakh last year which had bounced.
