BDO seizes 2,500-kg fertiliser

Sitamarhi, Jan 9 (UNI) The Block Development Officer(BDO) today seized 2,500 kg fertiliser, meant to be smuggled to Nepal, from Shekhauna village under Bairagania police station area in the district.

Official sources here said the administration had been informed about the smuggling of fertilisers to Nepal from the bordering areas. Acting on a tip-off a team jointly led by BDO Mirza Arif Raza and Block Agriculture Officer Vinay Kumar, conducted raids and seized 50 packages of fertilisers from Shekhauna village.

However, no one was arrested so far. An FIR had been lodged and the matter was being investigated.
