Bajaj Electricals launches LED lighting
Chennai, Jan 9 (UNI) Consumer electronics major Bajaj Electicals today launched their LED range of lighting for commercial purpose.
Branded 'Green', these lightings were the latest in the portfolio of Bajaj Electricals, which included GLS lamps, flourescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, miniature lamps and consumer luminaries, Bajaj Electricals Ltd Executive VP V R Majumdar told reporters here.
''Apart from being environment friendly, these lamps provide a magical lighting effect that captivates the viewers,'' he claimed.
Indoor LED products would include recessed mounted spotlights, wall-recess mounted steplights, flexible strips suitable for cove lighting, he said, adding outdoor applications include a range of in-ground walkovers, floodlights (linear, circular and rectangular) and under water luminaries.
Bajaj LED product range was targeted at modern offices, retail showrooms, shopping complexes and store frontage signs, Government agencies and departments, self-government agencies including municipalities, corporations and public places such as parks and gardens, he explained.
Mr Mujamdar said ''global warming is a phenomenon that cannot be ignored and many companies are taking the concept of green buildings seriously. LED is very environmental friendly, due to their energy efficiency, nil mercury content and long life,'' he claimed, adding ''at Bajaj electicials, we have always supported the cause of environment through our products and through supporting initiatives like Paryavaran Mitra.'' He said these products would be launched in other major cities in a couple of months.
''We expect to do Rs five crore business during our first year operations,'' he said.
