Anganwadi worker dismissed

Davanagere, Karnataka, Jan 9 (UNI) A woman anganawadi worker was dismissed from service on charges of collecting money from beneficiaries to issue Bhagya Laxmi Bonds at Kurki here today.

Assistant Director of the Women and Child Development M S Jayaswamy dismissed Ms Nirmala attached to Kurki anganawadi centre.

Yesterday, the villagers had demanded the dismissal of Nirmala following her demand of Rs 1,000 from each beneficiary.

She was able to convince the villagers saying that the amount collected was given to higher ups, they said.
