A warm day in Delhi, mercury rises to 11 degrees Celsius
New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) Clouds hovering over the skyline today brought in a whiff of warm weather in Delhi after last week's cold wave, as the mercury in the capital shot up to 11 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.
The clouds in the sky resulted in a rise in minimum temperature in the city to 11 degrees, from 9.6 degrees yesterday.
Though there was a drop in maximum temperature to 24.7 degrees, it still remained four degrees above normal.
After Monday's fog, visibility levels this morning remained normal at 800m.
Weathermen attribute the considerable abatement of cold wave conditions and warm weather in the city to the clouds in the skyline as well as reversal of wind flow.
The abatement in cold could persist for another day or two with the weathermen forecasting a minimum temperature of 11 degrees tomorrow as well.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with possibility of light rain and thundershowers in some areas.
