500 booked for disturbing peace

Etawah, Jan 9 (UNI) Almost 500 people, including the Chaudhary Charan Singh Degree College principal, were booked tonight in connection with the commotion created by Samajwadi Party (SP) activists and students in Saffai.

According to sources, the administration registered a case against College principal Sarvesh Pradhan and 500 students at Saffai police station.

They were charged with ranting stentorian anti-government slogans, blocking roads and pelting stones.

Meanwhile, DIG (Kanpur range) Brij Bhushan Singh reached Saffai to take cognizance of the situation.

SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav is also scheduled to reach here late night to formulate further strateges regarding protest.
